Everyone deserves a healthy, comfortable and efficient home. Energy Savings Program rebates help make home energy upgrades more affordable. Rebates are based on your household income.

General requirements for all home types
- Your home must be a year-round primary residence and be at least 12 months old
- A member of your household must have residential electricity accounts with BC Hydro, FortisBC or a municipal utility
- Utility accounts in the name of a strata corporation or landlord are not eligible
- If you currently rent your home, you will need to include a landlord consent form with your application
Income requirements
The income level you qualify for is based on:
- How many people live in your home, including adults and children
- The combined pre-tax annual income of all adults in your home, excluding dependents
- The assessed value of your property

* Level 3 rebates are only available for ground-oriented homes switching from natural gas, propane or oil space heating to an electric heat pump.

Energy Savings Program Application Portal
Pre-register, get a code, and check the status of your application
Apply once for all ESP rebates
You only need to apply to the Energy Savings Program once. Once approved, a report shows all the ESP rebates you are eligible for. Your code can be re-used for multiple upgrades and rebates. Your code is valid for 6 months, after which you will need to apply again.

Heat pump rebates
For homes heated with:
Maximum value: up to $19,000
Heat pump water heater rebates
For homes with:
Maximum value: up to $3,500
Window and door rebates
Maximum value: up to $9,500
Insulation rebates
Maximum value: up to $5,500
Add-ons
For some of the above rebates, there may be available add-on rebates to help cover costs related to the upgrade. You’ll see these on the rebate pages linked above if you’re eligible:
- Ventilation rebate
- Health & safety rebate for mould, pests, etc.
- Electrical service upgrade rebate

Heat pump rebates
For condo and apartment units heated with:
Maximum value: up to $5,000
Heat pump water heater rebates
For condo and apartment units with:
Maximum value: up to $3,500
Whole building offers
Buildings with BC Hydro electric service might be eligible for the Multi-Unit Residential Building Retrofit Program. This BC Hydro program supports whole-building equipment and system upgrades. Learn more on BC Hydro.
