What are program registered contractors?

Program registered contractors are members of the Home Performance Contractor Network (HPCN). They are trained in industry best practices. They have also taken program-specific training.

You must use a program registered contractor for all Energy Savings Program (ESP) upgrades.

You must use a program registered contractor for Home Renovation Rebate (HRR) Program heat pump and insulation upgrades.

Note: Not all contractors are qualified for both ESP and HRR. Check the “Qualified Program(s)” column to make sure your contractor is qualified for the right program.

EnerGuide assessments

EnerGuide assessments are done in your home by a program qualified energy advisor. They test the air tightness of your home and model your home energy use. An EnerGuide assessment is required for some Better Homes add-on rebates.
