Home Renovation Rebate Program
The Home Renovation Rebate Program helps B.C. households of any income level with energy efficiency upgrades. It is part of the CleanBC group of programs.

Requirements

Program eligibility requirements
General requirements
- Your home must be a year-round primary residence and be at least 12 months old
- A member of your household must have residential electricity accounts with BC Hydro, FortisBC or a municipal utility
- Utility accounts in the name of a strata corporation or landlord are not eligible
- If you currently rent your home, you will need to include a landlord consent form with your application

A program registered contractor is required for most rebates.
Rebates available
Rebates for ground-oriented homes
Rebates for homes anywhere in B.C.
- Heat pump rebates for homes heated with electricity or wood – up to $4,000
- Heat pump water heater rebates for home with electric water heating – up to $1,000
- Window and door rebates – up to $5,500
- Insulation rebates – up to $2,000
Northern heat pump rebates
For homes located north of and including the District of 100 Mile House (latitude 51.628°N)
- Heat pump rebates for homes heated with oil – up to $6,000
- Heat pump rebates for homes heated with natural gas or propane – up to $8,000
- Heat pump water heater rebates for homes with natural gas, propane or oil water heating – up to $1,000
Add-ons and top-ups
For some of the above rebates, there may be add-ons or top-ups available. You will see these on the rebate pages linked above if you’re eligible.

Visit BC Hydro for multi-unit building rebates
Residents of eligible multi-unit buildings may be eligible for rebates from BC Hydro.
- Condo and apartment rebate program for individual units with electric heating
- MURB retrofit program for whole building equipment and system upgrades

Pacific Northern Gas customers who have completed a dual fuel heat pump upgrade can apply for a PNG top-up
