Important: Municipal top-up rebates are limited, subject to funding availability, and approved on a first-come, first-served basis. Due to program volumes, we cannot guarantee municipal top-ups will be available to homeowners.

Eligibility Requirements
In order to qualify for this rebate, all of the following requirements must be met. Please read them carefully. Contact an Energy Coach if you have questions.
Requirements for the home
- You must have a residential utility account with FortisBC, BC Hydro, or a municipal utility.
- You must live in an eligible home.
- You must be a resident of the District of North Vancouver.
- The home must be a year-round primary residence that is at least 12 months old.
Requirements for installation
All new equipment must be installed:
- Your upgrades must be completed on or after January 1, 2023.
- You must convert your primary water heating system from fossil fuel (oil, natural gas, propane) to an electric air source heat pump water heater.
- You must fulfill the eligibility requirements of the electric heat pump water heater rebate.
Deadlines
For installations completed by April 11, 2025:
- Invoice must be dated on or before April 11, 2025
- Submit your rebate application by: August 31, 2025
For quotes received by April 11, 2025:
- A quote or estimate dated on or before April 11, 2025 (must be included with your rebate application)
- Work completed and an invoice dated on or before May 23, 2025
- Submit your rebate application by: August 31, 2025
How to Apply
- Carefully read the Program Requirements and Additional Terms and Conditions to confirm your eligibility.
- Have an eligible heat pump water heater installed. See the heat pump water heater page for eligibility requirements.
- Once your upgrades are installed, complete the online application and upload all supporting documentation including copies of all receipts and invoices. See sample invoices.

Please Note: No additional application is required for the municipal top-up. The top-up will be added to your rebate payment if you are in the participating municipality.
