The province is enhancing and renaming the former IQP, including higher-value income-qualified rebates to support households switching from a fossil-fuel heating system to an electric heat pump.

Offer enhancements include:

  • Providing rebates for 100% of the cost of a new heat pump up to technology-specific caps;
  • Increasing maximum rebate caps from $9,500 to $16,000;
  • Expanding eligibility to include middle-income households;
  • Providing an additional top-up of up to $3,000 for people living in northern B.C. who are switching from natural gas, propane, or oil space heating to an electric heat pump;
  • Increasing the maximum amount for electrical service upgrades, from $3500 to $5,000, when switching from natural gas, propane, or oil to a heat pump for space or water heating.

Other incentives are unchanged.
